Description: Clear latex.

Erect herb of up to 0.1 m high. Tuber ovoid to narrowly ovoid, 0.1–0.5×0.1–0.2 m. Aerial stems solitary or clustered, erect, purplish, glabrous, branching opposite and lateral. Leaves preading, petiolate; petiole 1–5 mm long; blade 40–150× 10–30 mm, narrowly ovate, grey–green, puberulous becoming glabrous, margin wavy, secondary veins arching and 5–6 to a side, pex acute, base cuneate to obtuse. Inflorescences terminal, few-flowered, puberulous, peduncles 1–2 mm long, pedicels 6–8 mm long; bracts 2–3 mm long, ovate, margins fringed, apex mucronate. Sepals 5×1.5 mm, triangular to ovate, puberulous, apex attenuate. Corolla tube 10–11 mm long, campanulate, outside slightly puberulous, inside glabrous, deep green; lobes spreading, 10–15×3 mm, obovate to oblong–ovate, pinkish-purple with ovate yellow patch at base, glabrous, apex obtuse. Corona pinkish-purple, glabrous; coronal feet fleshy, laterally curled–dilated, free; lobe 6–7 mm long, sickleshaped, curving outwards. Stamens borne from inner base of coronal feet; filaments 2 mm long, filiform; anthers 5×3 mm, narrowly ovate; slits in upper 2 mm, basal 3 mm thickened into 2 callocities. Ovaries 2 mm long, style 6 mm long, terete; stylehead 7 mm long, narrowly oblong–ovoid, pale pink, apex bifid; translators ±7 mm long, spoon narrowly elliptic. Gynostegium elevated above corolla mouth. Follicles usually solitary, pendulous, 40–60×20 mm, stout, keel-shaped, dark brown, glabrous, apex acute. Seeds 15×4 mm, flatly ovoid, ends acute; with a ring of 10 mm long, copper-tinged hairs along seed edge.
